Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the differences and levels of unmet healthcare needs and suicidal ideation according to individual and health-related characteristics in female patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The study utilized data from the 6th (2013, 2015) Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, including 165 female patients with rheumatoid arthritis and 5,133 individuals in the normal group. Multiple sample logistic regression analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS 18.0. The results revealed that unmet healthcare needs were significantly lower in the rheumatoid arthritis group compared to the normal group in Model 1 (OR 0.29) and Model 3 (OR 0.27), while being higher in Model 2. Suicidal ideation was significantly lower in the rheumatoid arthritis group in Model 1 (OR 0.13) and higher in Model 2 and Model 3. Based on the findings, the study suggests the importance of practical alternatives in healthcare and health policies to address unmet healthcare needs and suicidal ideation in female patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
